#WhiskySanta’s Glen Grant 1954 Super Wish

Heavens above! I’m feeling Christmassy now. The weather is getting colder, the lights are coming on, and I’m currently drinking a mug of mulled while watching The Muppet’s Christmas Carol. In my opinion Michael Caine’s finest performance. Or is that the mulled wine talking?

Everyone seemed rather thrilled about last week’s Super Wish, Bunnahabhain 40 Year Old. The lucky winner was Gerard Hepton. And as sure as night follows day, there’s another Super Wish today and it’s seriously, seriously exciting.

But first, a quick reminder of what on earth a Super Wish is. Unlike all the normal wishes that I’ll be granting every day until Christmas Eve (where you can wish for anything you like!), for these additional Super Wishes, I tell you about an extraordinary bottle that I will definitely be giving away to you of you. That way you know to definitely get your wishes in for that bottle too! Right, let’s get on with this week’s incredible whisky…

It’s Glen Grant 1954 (Gordon & MacPhail)!

This week we’ve delved into the unrivalled inventory of Gordon & MacPhail of Elgin and plucked out an extremely old Glen Grant. This was distilled in 1954. 1954! It then spent around 60 years in a refill oloroso sherry cask before it was bottled in 2014 at 40% ABV. This is a seriously special slice of whisky history. They literally do not make whisky like this anymore.

If you want to taste a whisky distilled when John Lennon was still at school, then you should head over to the product page. A box will pop up ready to send you onwards to a pre-populated Twitter or Facebook post and, as long as you remember to hit ‘publish’ then you’ve completed your wish! If you’re one of those Instagrammers, then you can pop a post on your feed with the #WhiskySanta hashtag.

One lucky person who wishes for this incredible Glen Grant between now and the end of Thursday will find that their Christmas wish comes true!

Make sure to get those wishes in by 23:59 GMT Thursday 30 November. That leaves plenty of time to send it out on my sleigh (or a reputable courier service) and safely under your tree! The winner will be announced next Friday 1 December. Good luck!
