Café Alice Opens at The Roosevelt New Orleans

The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel has opened Café Alice in the former Teddy’s Café space. The new all-day dining concept that brings fresh energy and character to the storied French Quarter property.

Developed in collaboration with StiR Creative Collective, Hilton’s in-house global food and beverage consultancy arm, the European-style café and bar pays tribute to the legendary Alice Roosevelt, the first daughter of the hotel’s namesake, President Theodore Roosevelt. Her bold personality and unconventional spirit made her one of the most talked-about figures of her time.

Cocktails at Café Alice include The Wild Child, made with Bombay Sapphire Gin and matcha; the Espresso Beignet with Altamura vodka, beignet liqueur, Caffè Lucano and espresso; and Doctor’s Bellini with Juliette peach liqueur and Peychaud’s bitters. The Alice Blue Latte honors the color Roosevelt wore so often that it became the unofficial name for the shade. It uses spirulina to achieve that pale blue shade, along with coconut, vanilla, espresso, and coconut milk.

Café Alice joins The Roosevelt New Orleans’ relaunched Fountain Lounge, landmark Sazerac Bar, Italian-inspired Domenica, seasonal Rooftop Bar and 24-hour in-room dining. The Art Deco-era Sazerac Bar is a destination unto itself, renowned for the storming of The Sazerac Bar in 1949, when women demanded to be served at the bar that previously only welcomed them on Mardi Gras Day.
