Barrell Craft Spirits Introduces Barrell Bourbon Batch 038

Barrell Craft Spirits (BCS) has released Barrell Bourbon Batch 038, a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys sourced from Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and Maryland.

The new release combines 12-year-old bourbon from Kentucky, 12- and 15-year-old bourbon from Tennessee, 9- and 10-year-old bourbon from Indiana and 8-year-old bourbon from Maryland. BCS bottled the blend in Kentucky at 116.96 proof (58.48% ABV). The derived mash bill consists of 79% corn, 17% rye and 4% malted barley.

Barrell Bourbon Batch 038 is available through the company’s website and at retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $84.99 per 750-ml. bottle.

Barrell Bourbon batches serve as the company’s annual blending releases, with each batch designed to showcase a range of ages and styles through a distinct blend.

The company describes Batch 038 as featuring notes of mature bourbon, wood, earth and tannins. BCS says adding water reveals notes of confetti cake, lemon jelly and mango.

Founded in 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky, Barrell Craft Spirits sources, selects and blends whiskey and other spirits from multiple distilleries. The company focuses on blending spirits produced through different distillation methods, barrel types and aging environments. Barrell Craft Spirits distributes its products in 49 states, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Ukraine and Australia.
